Early Childhood Resources

Resources in the field of early childhood are endless. Listed below are some that I have found to be informative and helpful.

Grants Available for Early Childhood Education-

LEGO: The LEGO Children's Fund provides quarterly project grants and some matching fund grants to nonprofit organizations that have needs regarding Early Childhood Education that is directly related to creativity. http://www.legochildrensfund.org/

IBM: Their KidSmart Early Learning Program assists pre-K programs all over the world. http://www.kidsmartearlylearning.org/

W.K.Kellogg Foundation: The breakfast cereal pioneer established this grant in 1930. It is still funded by a trust. His instructions were simply- "Use the money as you please so long as it promotes the health, happiness and well-being of children. http://www.kellogg/ foundation.

  1. Donna,
Being so new to my current position (only about 8 months in right now), I am very unaware of all of the different grant opportunities out there. Right now, I am in charge of three budgets for my early childhood center, and one is a grant funded program/budget. I am always looking at how to bring more money to my other programs as well so that they are not short changed. I am definitely going to look into getting some grants for the next school year to help my programs and I have already started researching the ones you have shared today.
Have you ever looked into local banks in your area for grants? There is a PNC Bank in our area that will provide some grants as well. For example, if a PNC employee volunteers in your program 40 hours in a year, they will give a $1000 grant to your organization. Kohl’s department stores do a similar grant structure with $500. I’m not sure if you have ever looked into these before, but I thought I would share since you mentioned you are always looking for more resources for grants. Thank you so much!
